Domus chair

Artekki Domus chair is a masterpiece of modern furniture design and one of the most beloved Finnish classics. Ilmari Tapiovaara originally designed a practical stackable chair for general use in 1946 as part of the furniture of the Student Houses Domus Academica. The object of the tapioca risk was to design a chair suitable for study and dining, which would be so comfortable, you can sit there and read for a long time. The ergonomically shaped Domus chair is therefore both comfortable to sit and beautiful to look at. The chair is suitable for supporting the body, and thanks to short armrests the chair can be pulled close to the table.

Domus chair was once Finland's first post-war export success, which brought several prizes to its designer in international contests. It has since found its place in homes and public spaces throughout the world. In the world, the Domus chair is known among other things as The Finn Chair and Stax.
